Singapore Breakfast on Killiney Road

Address: Killiney Road, Singapore
It was the last day of my 36-day S.E. Asia 2010 trip. Since I was staying so close to Killiney Road, it was suggested that I try some of the cafe's along this way. I was up before some of the 'toast & coffee' shops, but not too early for Indian Muslim curries, Chinese style soups & salt fish and of course, Singapore Laksa!
Walking from River Valley Road to Orchard Road along Killiney is a nice morning jaunt. As a bonus, there are all sorts of interesting breakfast cafe's between Lloyd & Dublin roads. I stopped in my tracks when I saw "Tanglin First Stop Coffee Shop".
Inside this sort of food court are all kinds of Muslim, Chinese and varous Singaporean specialties.
Breakfast of champions...
Salt egg & sausage cakes. Together 4-ever...
Mystery condinents...
And finally the appearance of a stall destined to produce my breakfast for last day of Singapore and 36-day SE Asia extravaganza vacation.
Laksa condiments.
A bowl of genuine Singapore laksa.
After wiping off a half-litre of sweat which ran down my body as I ate laksa for breakfast in what felt like high 20's celcius weather, I began the next leg of my morning breakfast walk to see what other delights might await.
Killiney Curry Puff! Was I seeing thing? What a great place to have a curry puff outlet. Of course I had to try a piece. Good.
I have no idea what the Killiney Curry Puff lady thought of me as I snapped a few pics of her stand. After a few minutes of taking photos I placed an order for count it - 1 curry puff - and then I continued on my way up the street.
If it were not for Teck Kee Tanglin Pau, I would have finished this particular breakfast walk. But the sign beckoned.
The lady behind this counter had more of an interested and amused look on her face than the curry puff lady. I like it when Asian people get a kick out of seeing white guy walking around looking for good food to eat.
The rest of those coffee shops and kaya toast outlets will have to wait for another trip to good old Singapore.
