Bun Bo Hue at Le Petit Saigon Vietnamese Restaurant

There is no shortage of Vietnamese restaurants in Vancouver. That is why, when looking for a good one to eat at, one must observe a steady and regular traffic of hungry patrons who have focussed on one particular Pho' eatery. Such a one is Le Petit Saigon located at 2783 E. Hastings, Vancouver.
Tonight I decided to indulge in an amazing beef noodle soup called Bun Bo Hue. It is a pork hock and beef noodle soup served in the traditional way with round noodles, not flat vermicelli.
More than enough food for a rather large eater such as myself: an order of springrolls (which I can't help but order every time I eat here) and a large bowl of Bun Bo Hue. The broth of this dish is special. It differs substantially from ordinary pho' in that it is both spicier and stronger in aromatic flavor (I think due to the addition of lemon grass).

This is a first-class selection of pork hock. For some reason I really like the one with more skin and cartilage. I can really dig into this dish, 'slurp slurp' without a care in the world. Comfort food for a rainy and slightly cold first day of June in Vancouver.
