After a delicious lunch of roast goose at Yung Kee Restaurant, we decided to venture forth along Wellington Street down to Queen's Road where the plan was to catch a tram. An hour out of Hong Kong across the Causeway Bay (regular ferry 1 hour, fast ferry 1/2 hour) lies the island of Cheung Chau. On it can be found a moment of serenity from the hustle & bustle of the nearby megalopolis. We went here to experience the magic of its narrow streets too small for cars, fishing culture with attendant fresh seafood, open-air restaurants and Chinese culture focusing on store fronts selling knick-knacks, tourist items, house-hold goods and fresh/frozen/dried produce & seafood products and byproducts. more...

With only two days to see Hong Kong (what a good joke right?) I had a brain-wave: stay up until the wee hours wandering around Temple Street & vicinity, (in the areas of Jordan and Yau Ma Tei in Kowloon). I had heard from someone that Hong Kong is the 'city that never sleeps'. So knowing this was to be my last night in Hong Kong before flying to Singapore for the next leg of my fabulous 6-week SE Asia holiday, I gritted my teeth and walked the streets photographing everything in sight. more...
