Last item on my to-do list during my great 26-days Southeast Asia Adventure Holiday... visit the Singapore Zoo! The only open concept zoo that I know of, Singapore Zoo is definitely worth seeing.
My first stop was to the Proboscis Monkey area. Behind a glass pane sit the monkeys, perched in their jungle home. Beyond is a female Proboscis Monkey with a baby.
As I was shooting the female, a male came close to where I was standing and made aggressive movements.
Mandrills. Very colourful creatures.
The gibbons have a tall edifice to perch in. They also have a very wide moat separating them from the public.
A Komodo Dragon. Notice the sheer drop separating the viewer from the large lizard.
Closeup of Komodo Dragon.
This Giant Tortoise is probably older than I am.
Male and female orangutans.

The elephant enclusure. Again notice the large trench separating the viewer from the wildlife.

Hamadryas Baboons. There is a wide moat separating these baboons from the audience.

Sleeping wharthogs.

Tapir.
Two tapir.
Beneath a walkway there is a false ghavial.
Zoom in.
Not sure what type of tree dweller this one is...
These monkeys swing around overhead without any cage or other "safety net" between them and the public..
Yours truly clearly tuckered out after a long Singapore day.
