Considering that my 9-5 work is taking photos (construction related), I should take more photos of panoramas from the top of newly erected towers. These shots were taken from the top of the newly built Patina residential tower on the corner of Barclay & Burrard.

Posted on 08/31/2010
Address: about 2 miles south of downtown Squamish
Just a couple miles south of Sqamish is a native-rum gas station that deserves a gas-and-go stop. If not merely to gas up someplace different, how about supporting the Native Canadians so they can provide more services in the future? Apparently there is smoked salmon and candied salmon coming soon to this outlet! ... more...

Address: 1531 Western Avenue, Seattle WA
It has been a long time since I've been to Seattle. Not since I drove down to the Oregon Coast with Brian Miller to the Jus Harp Festival in '07 and before that in '94 to see the Toronto Blue Jays play the Seattle Mariners at the King Dome. So Arnel and I decided to make a day of it and head down to Seattle's Pike Place Market for a bit of regional sightseeing as well as bargain shopping at Seattle Outlets in Tulalip. more...

Longest Solar Eclipse Until 3043

Address: seen from Royal Palace, Mandalay Myanmar.
While in Mandalay Myanmar last January 15th, I noticed a commotion while having lunch at Green Elephant Restaurant. A group of tourists were moving quickly out from their tables and into the courtyard while looking skyward with special glasses. Curious, we wandered over and inquired as to the goings on -- the group of tourists from Turkey had come to Myanmar specially to observe the solar eclipse (at least that is what they told us!). Unbeknownst to us, the annual solar eclipse was due and according to several sources this is the longest annual solar eclipse until the year 3043, with a maximum length of 11 mins and 7.8 seconds. more...

The world is full of good food. Since I began travelling to Asia in '07, it has been my good fortune to eat the best food in the places I have visited. From world-class Thai lunchtime buffet at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Sala Rim Naam Restaurant in Bangkok Thailand, to 1st-class Malay food at Seri Melayu Restaurant in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia, to amazingly potent Indian cuisine at Banana Leaf Apolo Restaurant in Singapore. These restaurants personify and sum up the best-in-class foods of these various more...
